Anti-pollution and sun damage skincare routine

Pollution and sun damage is the root of most skin-related issues to start with. The small dust particles can penetrate through the skin barrier and can harm the skin by breaking down the lipids and collagen with it and can cause clogged pores, irritation, acne, and rashes.

Simultaneously, direct exposure to the sun for the skin is not a good idea as it not only speeds up the skin aging process and causes wrinkles, but the harmful ultraviolet rays from the sun can trigger skin cancer as well. Well, there is nothing to worry about, but as small steps go a long way, hence, we all need to take good care of our skin. Here is a basic skincare routine to follow in order to nourish the skin and protect it from pollution and sun:

  1. Cleansing/makeup removing:

Makeup is a great tool to enhance a woman’s beautiful features; however, long term use of makeup products can lead to a negative impact on the skin as they contain chemical-based products. Hence, right as one gets back home, they should wash their face to remove all the dust and dirt particles along with makeup to prevent clogging of the pores.

  • Toner:

After cleansing the face, a toner should be applied to make sure there are no residual dirt particles of makeup, oil, or dirt left on the skin left. It also corrects the pH of the skin and helps in the prevention of breakouts.

  • Moisturize:

Moisturize your skin at least twice a day to keep it well-hydrated and retain the plump look. As a result, the skin can get nutrients and hydration to heal from the harmful effects of the pollution particles.

  • Sunscreen:

To protect your skin from sun damage, it is inevitable to use sunscreens that are available in different Sun Protection Factor (SPF) can be bought. The SPF value varies from individual to individual, depending on their exposure to the sun. Not only this, but the right SPF value can also be chosen according to the region one lives in. If it is a sunny area and the person has prolonged exposure to the sun, they should get a sunscreen that is of a higher value. Sunscreen should be applied every time one leaves their house.
