Why are antioxidants important for your skin and body?
Before we start, let us understand what free radicals do to your skin. You probably heard that term being tossed around. Basically, free radicals are one of the reasons why your skin’s collagen breaks down. We talked about skin barrier earlier, so free radicals will break down the skin and that is how you end up with wrinkles and loose skin.
Free radicals come from many shape and forms including pollution, cigarette, different kitchen products, pesticides, and exposure to the sun. That is why it is important to add antioxidants to your skincare routine and also diet in order to build a protective layer.
So, what antioxidants do for you?
- They help prevent sunburn
- Help the skin rebuild itself
